Engineering students from across the state of Kentucky converged upon downtown Louisville last week for TSA State. SCHS had students competing in the following contests:
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
Technology Problem Solving
Extemporaneous Speech
Structural Design and Engineering
Dragster
Board Game Design.
We are proud to announce our Board Game called โMuscle Madnessโ won 2nd place out of the whole State. Earl and Peyton did an amazing presentation at TSA State and their entire team worked extremely hard on their board game. Other members on the team were Jason, Charlie, Axel, and Ayden. Simar and Chris made it to the Semifinals for Structural Design and Engineering for their bridges which is a huge honor. Benโs dragster made it to 12th place out of nearly 100 dragsters. Grace, Kayla, Noah and Lee did an amazing job in Tech Problem Solving while Andres delivered a great speech. Our drone teams spent hours preparing for State and they tried hard to defend our first place Regional win at State. Good job Engineering students! Go Bears!

This group of great students from the SCHS Y Club attended a mock UN in Louisville at the beginning of March. To participate, students had to demonstrate knowledge of how the world works, gather information to represent another country (SCHS represented the Netherlands), as well as demonstrate an understanding of international law and a variety of other topics.
Our proposal was demonstrated by Chris DeWitt, Ty Simpson, and Drake Baldwin. They were the highest-ranked proposal in their committee after the first round. Lovely Lafavers was in charge of our world expo display. She handmade almost all of our tulips and Baylee Belmont made the display board. Buck Murphy and Claire Ballard represented the country of Germany in the Security Council simulation and did extremely well. The following awards were given to our group :
Fabi Marin- International Court Showcase winner (only our 2nd winner ever) and Outstanding Delegate
Gracie Brown- Outstanding Speaker award
Anna Aberli - Outstanding Doorkeeper (in charge of the room during voting sessions)
Premier Delegation- the whole group
Please congratulate them if you see these great students.
