2nd Grade Class were Active Collaborators, Engaged Citizens, Effective Communicators, and Empowered Learners in Music Class this week while learning about the musical traditions of the Kentucky Derby. They learned about Rossini's "William Tell Overture", and how it is often used in horse racing for its fast-paced galloping tempo that mimics speed and hoofbeats.
It is widely played at race tracks to increase excitement, often accompanying the opening of the gates, parade laps, or as a classic theme for dramatic horse racing. including the Kentucky Derby. We hope you enjoy their performance!

Camp Spencer Summer Registration
Spencer County Public Schools is excited to launch Camp Spencer, a fun and engaging summer experience for students in Kindergarten through 4th grade!
Due to limited space in Tigers Beyond the Bell and Cub Club, we are offering Camp Spencer as an additional opportunity for more students to participate in a high-quality summer program.
Camp Spencer is designed to help students learn, grow, explore new interests, and stay active through hands-on camps led by our Spencer County staff.

Ms. Porterโs fifth grade students celebrated the end of their novel, Esperanza Rising, by having a fiesta! Students learned the Mexican hat dance, snacked on chips and salsa, and reviewed for their summative assessment!
